I've downloaded the clips, how come they won't play back?
Various formats are used to encode the movie clips. If you get audio, but no or frozen video, then you must download
and install the appropriate codec in order to enable your computer
to play back the videos. Check the format designation beside each clip to determine which
codec you should download from the codec page. Windows Media Player does not automatically download the some codecs.
Some clips use the windows media
format. For PC users, you must be connected to the internet the first time you try to play
the video file. This will allow media player to self-install the required codecs.
MAC USERS: please go to DivX Digest for information
on MAC-related codecs and software necessary to play back the video files. You can also check
the windows media website for information on playing
windows media files on Apple computers.
More information about codecs can be found in our codec section.
If you get an error
saying the file can not be played back at all (no video and no sound), then the file may have been corrupted
in the download process (usually an incomplete download). We recommend downloading the file again or resuming
the download with a program like Getright.
when I left-click a download link, it just says, "connecting" and nothing happens. Why?
Some ISPs use what's called a "proxy". This is a server that basically handles your internet requests,
instead of you requesting the site's server directly. Media Player is not super-intelligent.
It does not know if you are using a proxy and may try to communicate with the site's server via the normal route.
This can cause the "connecting...." error. If you are aware that your internet provider ueses a proxy
and you have the proxy address, open media player, select "view" -> "options" -> "advanced" -> "streaming media" and
enter the proxy server in the box provided.
Other causes for the error include software firewall protection or administrative restrictions.
This is most pervalent in Windows 2000 and Windows XP. To remove the restrictions, consult with Windows
technical help and support. The "connecting..." problem can also be caused by improper settings if you
are splitting your connection via another computer acting as a server. This is most common in offices
and school networks. To solve this problem, contact the system administrator. If you are experiencing
the "connecting..." problem with our site, chances are you will experience it on every site, if any of
the above causes are to blame.
If you are completely clueless as to the possible cause, there is a simple way not just to test if you are
indeed suffering from one of the problems listed above, but to also bypass the problem altogether and download the clip.
First, can you download the clip by right-clicking instead of left-clicking? For example, right-click on the download
link and select "save link as" (for internet explorer) or "save target as" (for netscape navigator).
If username and password are asked, enter them and a download window should appear asking you where to save the file.
If the download begins and you can successfully download the clip, that means that nothing is wrong with the server or
our service, but one or more of the above problems may be to blame. However, you may not need to rectify the problem(s)
anyway now that you can save the file to your hard drive. You have the added bonus of being able to replay the file
whenever you want instead of downloading it all over again the next time you left-click the link. Remember that media
player does not save a permanent copy of the file on your hard drive for you. It tries to "steam" or play the file
off the server whenever you left-click a video link. This applies to ALL websites.
If the above solution does not work, please contact your ISP.
how do I join the clips together?
For avi files, we recommend a program called, nandub. You can download the program
here.
You can also try a program called, "AVI/MPEG/RM/WMV Joiner" by Biolsoft.
NOTE: In order to join, cut, or edit the clips in any way, you must have
the appriopriate codecs installed. Check each movie's download page
to see which codec is used.
why can't you encode your movies so they fit on one CD?
Some of our movies do fit on one CD, but many don't. Rather than encoding movies
for that purpose, we made the decision to strive for a consistent video quality instead.
Our goal is to provide a certain level of quality and it would be unfair to you if the videos
were sometimes poor (due to lower bitrates) just so they could fit on a CD. It's also unfair to visitors
who do not wish to download entire movies, but merely the scenes they like to watch.
If you would like the movies to fit on a single CD, you have the option of re-encoding them
yourself. Many programs and tutorials are available. We recommend Doom 9
for a complete guide to encoding movies.
why do you split the videos into so many parts?
There are a number of reasons:
1. we divide by scene because some visitors just want to download a particular scene and not the whole movie.
2. we divide by foreplay and intercourse because some visitors want to skip either foreplay or intercourse.
3. smaller file sizes puts less strain on the server and increases available bandwidth and load times
for all visitors.
This splitting is inconvenient to users who wish to download an entire movie, but putting less
strain on the servers benefits everyone in terms of response time and bandwidth, and not everyone
wishes to download entire movies.
why can't I hear any audio or audio only on either the left or the right channel?
There is nothing wrong with the video files.
For some strange reason, some movie studios encode the dialogue audio on
one channel, and the music on the other, or center channel.
At this
time, we are unable to correct this problem as it is inherent in the
original DVDs from these studios.
If you hear no audio at all, this means your speaker has been improperly
set up and you are not outputting one of the channels.
why can't I use download acceleration?
In relation to forbidden error question.
The way "download acceleration" works is
by opening multiple download streams of the same file. This is very bad because a single user
can hog up all the bandwidth, preventing other users from downloading at acceptable speeds. It's like
a 10 lane road and one person is using 9 lanes while everyone else only gets 1.
This may be an inconvenience for some, but it makes sense. You might have used download acceleration
because you thought the webservers were slow, but that was caused by other users doing the same thing, thus
multiplying the problem.
Download managing - to assist in making complete downloads - should still be available. Your
download manager should be set to download at most 2 files at a time, and from only 1 stream
each. This is the case with EVERY multi-site adult service.
Most other adult sites have this limitation in place as well. It's the best solution in the end
because everyone gets good download speeds, the servers are less strained, therefore more uptime.
how can I improve slow playback of xvid, divx, and mpeg-4 clips?
Try using the FFDSHOW filter instead of downloading
and installing the various codecs. It improves playback even on older
systems.
how often is this site updated?
A brand new, full-length movie everyday! There will be times when our update
schedule is set back due to technical difficulties. We apologize for the
inconvenience.
my downloads get cut off, what can I do?
Get a download manager such as Getright, which can resume your
downloads in case you get cut off.
do you take requests?
We cannot take requests for specific movies because not all movies have licenses available to purchase.
What we can do is take requests for particular pornstars you would like to see. Please send all your requests
to aparchive2@hotmail.com. Due to the amount
of correspondences we receive, we may not have time to reply to each one. However, all requests are noted
and filed.
why do I get a "Forbidden" error?
If you get a Forbidden message, don't worry. Just retry the link a few times. The video file is not missing, otherwise,
you'd get a missing file error. A special server configuration is in place to prevent people from
downloading more than 2 files at a time. This is to prevent users with broadband internet connections from hogging up
the bandwidth. Think of it this way, the data path from our server to your computer is like a line of people waiting
at the cash register in a store. This line is only for people with no more than 2 items, that way, no one person can
take a whole bunch of items leaving nothing for everyone else and taking up time at the checkout.
The server may require a certain amount of time in between you first opened the preview page and the time you clicked the download
link so occasionally you will get the "forbidden" message. The server just hasn't recognized your download request as an individual
transaction yet. Simply try it again until it works.
why is some of the pornstar information incorrect?
Measurements and hair color change often in the industry. Women dye their hair from brown to blonde, get breast implants,
lose weight, etc. This is why sometimes the information provided might not match what is shown in the movie stills, or
what you currently know of the pornstar. We are also not perfect and must rely on other sources for information.
If you believe something is inaccurate, please contact us
to inform us of the error.
who can I contact if I have a problem with my account?
If you experience problems logging in, suspect your account has been stolen, or any other inquiries
regarding your account status, please contact janswebring membership support.
